Ant Plant Reserve is located in East Feluga, 8km west of the South Mission Beach township adjoining Mount Mackay National Park in tropical North Queensland.
Ant Plant Reserve is home to precious species including cassowaries and mahogany gliders, both listed in the top 20 species within Australia’s Threatened Species strategy. Other vulnerable species on the site include the Ant Plant and the associated Apollo Jewel Butterfly. Ant Plant Reserve is the perfect place to permanently secure protection for these species being adjacent to a national park and containing a mosaic nearly 200 ha of healthy endangered regional ecosystems of which 90% is remnant vegetation.
